The artwork was part of a group exhibition, "Collateral Damage" that focused on the "comfort women". A Japanese euphemism coined by the military to refer to women they enslaved into sexual service. It explored and highlighted the issue of collateral damage as a consequence of war, and the violation of human rights and traumatization of non-combatants.
