Cloud Canopy, 44th and Washington Street Station, Phoenix, AZ, 2008

Cloud Canopy consists of nine half inch thick aluminum panels suspended over the station's west entry ramp. As you enter the ramp from 44th street the panels are approximately thirteen feet above the viewer's head. As the viewer continues up the ramp towards the station platform, the panels descend to heights of 11 and 9 feet. The winglike forms create a visual movement for the work.
